Whisky a Go Go
Like a Rolling Stone, the Whisky is still raging at more than 40 years old.
Since 1964, the Whisky has hosted large and small acts including Led Zeppelin, the Doors, Janis Joplin and The Stooges. Though it enjoyed a '90s renaissance (the Smashing Pumpkins were among the acts who broke through in LA here), it's once again fallen victim to the Sunset Scene, becoming better known to scenesters as a venue that overcharges high-school bands for pay-to-play gigs then as a place to cat
